Meet our founders CC, Rosa and Esther

CC is a writer and a DONA certified birth doula. She loves to cook and sing and create cozy spaces for her family which now includes a husband, two daughters, a dog, seven hens, four goats and one alpaca. #ripbees

Rosa is a student at UConn Storrs. She’s training to be a vet and is admirably comfortable whilst elbow deep in a cow. At first she was CC’s chicken sitter, then baby goat liaison, then alpaca fixer and now Farm Foreman. There would be no Amber Hill Farm without Rosa.

Esther is Rosa’s mom and CC’s daughters’ beloved nanny. She has a limitless supply of patience and good humor and can swing a 50 lb bag of feed around like it’s a bean bag. She is the backbone of this whole operation.

We started Gardening with Goats because there is a sore need for a children’s gardening class in our area. Goats aren’t the best gardeners. They are indiscriminate weeders and have zero respect for plant labels but dang, they’re cute. We’re hoping they’ll do for gardening what they’ve done for yoga.

GG’s covers a few bases- it gets kids outside, it puts proper garden tools in their hands, farm animals in their laps and gets them thinking about where their food comes from. Each week focuses on a new crop so your littles will always take home a compostable egg carton full of soon-to-be seedlings. Hopefully they’ll also leave GG’s with newfound confidence, a healthy dose of wonder and some dirt under their nails. GG’s- good for the soul and the microbiome!
